Brushfire Records

My name is Jack Johnson, not to be confused with the former-heavyweight champion of the world Jack Johnson.  I was born and raised in Hawaii and learned how to play guitar out on the front porch with my dad’s friends singing Cat Stevens and Bob Marley songs.  When I hit high school I started a band with some friends called Limber Chicken and we covered Minor Threat and Bad Religion songs.  I studied film in college then found myself making surf movies after I graduated.  It was traveling the world making these surf films when I started writing the songs that ended up being my first album, “Brushfire Fairytales.” Here we are 5 albums later…
