Our friend Neil Halstead has released several beautiful solo records over the years, 2 of which – Oh Mighty Engine, and Palindrome Hunches – we were fortunate enough to put out. If you’ve not heard them, you are really missing out.
His band Slowdive reformed last year and played a lot of festivals and a notably great show here in Los Angeles. They are a different animal than Neil’s solo work and his work in Mojave 3, but equally amazing. We were pretty excited to take a listen to this new track, looks like they are due to release a new album on Dead Oceans this year…
Neil Halstead hitting to the road with Slowdive
Before Neil Halstead released 2 solo records with us, he put out some amazing albums as part of Mojave 3 and before that with Slowdive(band) . Well after 2 decades away, Slowdive has returned to the road, wowing audiences at festivals around the world. We’ll see ya at the LA Shows! All dates posted HERE.
neil halstead goes underground
Neil Halstead will be touring Spain in March. He will be playing 10 dates where he will be covering The Velvet Underground’s classic debut album ‘The Velvet Underground & Nico’ in full, from start to finish. If there’s time he’ll also be playing songs from across his own career, including his most recent album ‘Palindrome Hunches’.
Neil also plays four shows in Italy in April and, before all that, he hits the road later this month for four UK shows as part of the Songwriters’ Circle with Danny George Wilson and Peter Bruntnell.
Who recorded the 20 best rock n roll solo records? According to Consequence of Sound , Neil Halstead (of Mojave 3 and Slowdive )’s Palindrome Hunches makes the list, plus 19 other artists you can read about here.
We’ve always thought Neil was an amazing artist. Glad to see others agree.
