Have you heard about KAABOO festival in San Diego? Brushfire artists Jack Johnson, G. Love & Special Sauce, & amp; ALO as well as old friends/label alums Donavon Frankenreiter, Matt Costa will be there.
You can win a trip to the festival and a meet and greet with Jack just by taking a few simple actions:
Jack is celebrating World Oceans Day in New York! World Oceans Day is a global event that inspires people to help create healthier oceans for a healthy planet. Jack is participating in the celebrations at the United Nations, and will be joining friends from the Polynesian Voyaging Society to honor their Malama Honua sail across the world’s oceans.
This morning, Jack had the honor of attending a ceremony with the U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. Two years ago in Samoa, Ban Ki-moon came aboard the Hokule’a and offered the gift of a message in a bottle, a handwritten note pledging to take action and protect the world’s oceans. Along her sail, the Hokulea Crew has collected 40 pledges from around the world and will return the bottle to the Secretary-General in honor of World Oceans Day.
Catch the Wave for Change by taking action for healthy oceans on World Oceans Day, and every day! Learn more at https://www.worldoceansday.org/
Jack had a great time performing with Paula Fuga and his amazing Turnaround Arts students at Waianae Elementary School and Kamaile Academy. Check out this awesome video celebrating the Power of the Arts in Schools.
In celebration of Earth Month, last week Pivot TV premiered “All At Once: On The Road,” a documentary following Jack’s 2014 North American west coast tour and highlighting his music, lifestyle, and greening initiatives.
If you missed the film premiere on Pivot TV, the film is now available for sale or rent exclusively on iTunes.
The film highlights the Johnson‘s Kokua Hawaii Foundation, the work of the All At Once campaign, and several key non-profit partners and businesses focusing on plastic free initiatives and sustainable local food systems. Tune in to see how Jack and his team strive to create as little impact on the Earth as possible, from traveling on biodiesel-powered buses, to sourcing organic and locally grown meals, to carefully disposing of waste along the way.
Get a first-hand look at the day-to-day life of the band on tour, including incredible performance footage of Jack on stage at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre with Animal Liberation Orchestra, the Greek Theater in Berkeley with Bahamas, the iconic The Gorge Amphitheatre with Eddie Vedder, special guest appearances by surfer and environmentalist Rob Machado, and surfer Kelly Slater at the Santa Barbara Bowl. The goal of the tour and this documentary is to inspire people to get involved, make the right choices, and enjoy the music along the way.
